We have a green heart

At Magic Cloud, we genuinely care about the environment. For years, we have been taking action to reduce our carbon footprint. Our company primarily aims to reduce its own emissions, but in addition, we offset the greenhouse gas emissions caused by our operations by funding independently verified climate projects. The offset for the latest fiscal year’s emissions was directed to the VCS-certified The Russas forest project in Brazil. Offsetting is a complementary measure in our climate work. 💚

Domestic green cloud

Our cloud runs on solar energy.

Solar panels have been installed at our data centers, and our cloud has utilized solar energy since 2019. On a sunny day, almost all of our data center’s electricity consumption is covered by solar energy.

280 days a year, our data centers' cooling operates without electricity.

Cooling is a major electricity consumer in data centers, which is why Magic Cloud has switched to free cooling. This means we can cool our data centers up to 280 days a year using outdoor air, without electricity.

100% green electricity

The electricity we use is always green. In addition to our solar panels, all the electricity we use is guaranteed renewable. We ensure that the electricity is emission-free through certificates of origin. As proof of this, we have received the EECS certificate.

The PUE value indicates our cloud's energy efficiency.

The value is obtained by dividing the energy consumption of IT equipment used for data processing by the total energy consumption of the data centers. For us, IT equipment includes servers and network devices. Other energy-consuming devices include cooling, alarm, and suppression systems, as well as lighting. The minimum PUE value is 1, where almost all energy consumption is used solely for data processing.

1.41

Average PUE value of our data centers over the last 30 days.

What happens next?

We are exploring the possibility of heat recovery from our data centers.

Under consideration is increasing our own solar energy production.

We are taking action to improve energy efficiency.

We are paying more attention to the lifecycle carbon footprint of equipment.

Magic Cloud's Environmental Commitment

Magic Cloud is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations systematically and according to the principle of continuous improvement. We identify the key environmental aspects of our services and develop our operations in a measurable and controlled manner.

We measure our carbon footprint regularly and use the results in developing our operations and decision-making. We evaluate energy solutions as part of developing our data center and cloud infrastructure, and consider renewable energy opportunities in electricity procurement.

We pay attention to equipment lifecycle management and responsible recycling. We reduce the amount of waste and ensure proper sorting at all our locations. We consider environmental aspects in procurement and make choices that support energy efficiency and sustainability.

We monitor our operations using defined key indicators and set concrete development targets as part of our management system. We comply with applicable environmental legislation and integrate environmental responsibility into our daily operational activities.
